I had a rough experience with financial aid at umgc. Like… every time I called, I felt like I got a different answer, and no one really seemed to know what was going on with my account. Emails took forever to get a response, and my aid ended up being delayed, which was just stressful for no reason. I kept having to follow up over and over for basic information and, it got really frustrating. Not impressed.

I expected an online class to take a decent amount of time, but this one felt like it never let up. Every week there were papers, discussion posts, replies to other people, quizzes, and a bunch of reading, all while I was trying to work my regular job. I’d sit down thinking I could knock out one thing, and suddenly it was midnight and I hadn’t even folded laundry or made dinner.
After a while it didn’t really feel like I was learning much, just trying to keep up and submit things before the deadline. Maybe some people are great at juggling that kind of schedule, but for me UMGC felt like way too much stress for one class. I don’t mind working hard, but this felt more like running on a treadmill that kept speeding up.

Getting my transfer credits sorted out with UMGC was a pain. It dragged on way longer than I expected, and I kept hearing different things depending on who I talked to. A few classes I had already taken barely counted, which was really frustrating. I felt like I was constantly following up just to get a simple update

I chose umgc because I thought the schedule would be easier to fit around my job, but it wasn’t really like that for me. Some of the deadlines felt kinda tight, and a few classes just didn’t work well with my hours. Advisors kept saying it was flexible, but it didn’t feel all that flexible in my experience

I didn’t feel like the advising was very helpful at all. I went in hoping to get some clear guidance or at least feel like I had a better idea of what to do next, but it mostly felt like I was just going through the motions. The advice I got was vague, and I left feeling about as confused as I was when I arrived. Maybe it works better for other people, but for me, it just felt like a waste of time.

I had a frustrating time trying to figure out the billing on umgc.edu. The info didn’t feel very clear or upfront, and I couldn’t really tell what I was going to owe or when it would be due. What made it worse was that it felt like I was just being sent around online with no real human contact to explain anything. I just wish the fees and charges were laid out more clearly before you get too far into the process

I tried taking classes online through UMGC, it just didn’t work for me!! The course setup felt kind of all over the place, and I had a hard time figuring out where things were or what to focus on. Getting responses also took longer than I expected, so I didn’t really feel supported when I needed help. For the amount it cost, I was hoping the whole experience would be a lot smoother

I reached out and waited for days, like actual days, and still didn’t get any helpful response. It was frustrating because I really needed some guidance and just kept being left hanging...

i really thought the veteran support would be better, but it felt like no one really knew what was going on with my benefits. i kept getting sent from one office to another, the answers kept changing, and it took way too long to get replies to emails. it made school a lot more stressful than it needed to be. maybe other people had a smoother experience, but mine with their military support was disappointing...

the tuition just hasn’t felt worth it to me. Once you add in fees and books it gets expensive really fast and I thought there would be more support for what we’re paying. If money is already tight I’d have a hard time telling someone to go here.

Not gonna lie, the classes felt lazy overall, and the feedback I got wasn’t very helpful. I was hoping to learn more, but it just didn’t really deliver.

I really don’t enjoy using UMGC. Every time I log in, it feels like I’m hunting for basic things like grades, assignments, or messages. Shouldn’t that stuff be easy to find?
The layout just feels cluttered, and sometimes the pages load slower than they should. When you’re already juggling classes, work, and everything else, who wants to waste extra time clicking through confusing menus?
Maybe some people are fine with it, but for me, the whole platform is frustrating. I end up spending more time trying to figure out the website than actually focusing on my classwork, and that gets old fast.

The classes were fine, so I’ll give them credit for at least making the program feel organized while it lasted. But the career support after that was disappointing. I expected some real help finding jobs, or at least a little guidance that wasn’t just generic resume advice and links I’d already found on my own. There wasn’t much follow-up, and I never got any useful leads. It kind of felt like once tuition was paid, they suddenly got a lot less interested in how things turned out
